Seattle was sultry and sunny. Hubby and I were there only for two days and had to cram everything into such a short visit. The best way to do it is to join a tour group which I would never do normally. Here we were, a motely group of tourists shepherded by a tour guide who seemed to know the exact price of every home in Seattle. Throughout the tour which lasted a couple of hours, all he told us was the price of real estate in Seattle! Poor fellow, stuck in mortgage and squeezed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, I guess!

Two things are etched in memory – the way thousands of salmons navigated the various locks – they had dedicated channels so that they would not be crushed by the boats .which also used the locks and the massive fish market that can rival similar markets in China or Japan.
