Ferry Ride Across Straits of Gibralter (2006)
My friend Rekha and I were in Granada for a conference. Before leaving Delhi, we had pored over the map of Spain and Portugal to decide which other places we should visit during the trip. When we realised Morocco was just a hop away ( actually 5 hour ferry ride) from the southern tip of Spain, we hastily applied for and obtained a visa for Morocco. To reach the port in Algeciras, we drove through the spectacular Costa del Sol. We boarded the Comarit ferry that would take us across to Tangiers in Morocco through Gibralter. But since we didn’t have a UK Visa, all we could do was to gape at the Rock of Gibralter as our ferry pulled into the Rock.
