Hiking Caminho de Santiago (2023)
Where in the world can you hike through a tunnel of green canopy for miles through charming villages with their antique stone masonry and fecund farms bursting with produce? In Gallicia in Spain. Even for the non-believers, the Caminho is such an enchanting trail that it is worth hiking. The trails can be as long as 800 km and can start anywhere – in Southern France and go through the magnificent Pyrennes, in Portugal, as far south as the Algarve, in Andalucia, Barcelona or Madrid in Spain. Wherever you begin your pilgrimage, the destination is the quain town of Santiago where St.James has been laid to rest in a magnificent crypt in an ornate Church. Do it, it is eminently doable and worth it.
